Perhaps you’ve seen the slow motion videos of a dog running, ears flapping (here’s one on Betweened or our TikTok if you want a reason to smile). I had so much fun making this and several other slow motion videos, that it turned into an activity to do together: Soundtracks for Life: Epic Little Memories.

By capturing simple moments like jumping into leaves or blowing bubbles and adding the right soundtrack, you can transform everyday scenes into cinematic masterpieces. The post outlines steps for recording, editing, and experimenting with music to enhance your videos. Not only is it a great creative activity, but it also supports kids in developing media literacy and critical thinking.

In the process of writing the activity, I was reminded of this gem — the final scene of Dirty Dancing combined with The Muppet Show theme song. Gotta love the Internet!
